Ph.D., MLIS, Google UX Certificate
I am an experienced UX Researcher and an advanced junior/ early mid-level User Experience Designer fluent in the UX process, experienced in proposing data-driven design decisions. My goal is to measure the ROI of UX research and to contribute to the UX designers' understanding of the needs, behaviors, and preferences of users.
Could you tell us about yourself?
Born in Ukraine, I fell in love with beautiful historical Boston (USA) as my permanent home when I was 12 years old. Since then my career path in user experience design was like an exciting adventure inside a maze of cobblestone streets. In other words, my UX career is a journey of self-discovery where all my previous academic and “real life” experiences in library science, social sciences, humanities, and technology-related fields make me a stronger candidate for new challenges.
Why UX?
I'm drawn to the field of User Experience (UX) because user research and design thinking challenges my mind, helps me to discover interesting problems to solve, and gives me joy to improve services and products for people to use in their daily lives. Unlike in the academia, the UX world is fast-paced and team-based, at least in my experience. For this reason, I thrive in a collaborative professional setting across various businesses and industries.
What do you have to offer?
In the course of my career I have brought inclusive design and design thinking to a variety of organizations: a healthcare non-profit, a real estate agency, a medical library, and small businesses. I can do the same for any business that truly wants to create a user-centric product or to improve an existing service using customer experience methodology (CX).
Are you a good fit for our work culture?
Consider me an empathetic listener and a quick study. No matter what product or service I work on, my goal is to empathize with users, designers, stakeholders; to share knowledge with other researchers; and to excel in gaining new skills. A Ph.D. trained researcher with 10+ years in social research, including UX research, data analytics, assessment, and evalution, I help to identify users’ pain points and offer data-driven solutions. But most importantly, I share the stated values of my many academic alter maters: excellence, diversity, inclusion, collaboration, innovation, and community engagement. (My shortcomings are checked by my sense of humor and humility.)
I look forward to working with you and I promise to commit my time, expertise, and open mind to the growth of your organization.
Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.
